Financial Controller/Accounting Manager

Manitoulin Chrysler is looking for a full-time Financial Controller/Accounting Manager to oversee the dealership’s accounting and financial operations.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, commissions, reconciliations and regulatory compliance. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced automotive dealership environment.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Degree or diploma in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related field
• CPA designation is considered an asset
• Strong proficiency with accounting software
• Ability to learn and work with a DMS system
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Previous accounting experience is required
• Automotive dealership experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Processing payroll and calculating commissions
• Processing vehicle sales and purchases
• Reconciling daily sales
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Preparing accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
• Preparing management reports in a timely manner
• Preparing HST and other required government filings
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and corporate policies
• Coordinating audits with auditors, financial institutions and government agencies
• Monitoring cash flow, working capital and inventory valuation
• Providing financial reporting and analysis to support management decisions
