Financial Controller

Job Description Overview We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead accounting operations and provide strategic financial oversight within a growing waste and recycling organization. This role will oversee full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and operational finance support across multi-site operations. The ideal candidate brings experience in industrial, transportation, manufacturing, or waste/recycling environments and understands the financial complexities of fleet operations, commodity pricing, inventory, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities Oversee full-cycle accounting: AP/AR, payroll, job costing, inventory, fixed assets Lead month-end and year-end close processes Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements Develop budgets, forecasts, and executive-level reporting Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital Strengthen internal controls and audit readiness Partner with operations leadership on margin analysis and cost controls Oversee ERP systems and financial process improvements Ensure compliance with tax, OSHA, environmental, and DOT regulations Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred) 5 years Controller or senior accounting leadership experience Experience in waste management, recycling, transportation, or industrial operations preferred Strong GAAP and financial reporting expertise ERP experience (QuickBooks, SAP, Dynamics, etc.) Proven ability to drive cost reductions and process improvements Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision 401(k) with company match Paid Time Off Professional development opportunities email : [email protected] All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
