The Role The Financial Controller & Credit Analyst is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and credit risk management.
This position manages the day‑to‑day financial processes of the organization, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The Controller works closely with the Chief Financial Officer and company leadership to provide reliable financial information that supports operational and strategic decision‑making. The role also includes responsibility for evaluating and managing credit exposure in a commodity‑driven market, ensuring that the company’s deployed capital remains protected.
Key Responsibilities Financial Operations Oversee the company’s accounting operations including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Ensure accurate financial records and proper accounting controls Maintain reliable bookkeeping and financial documentation Support the integrity and accuracy of all financial transactions Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports and internal financial statements Provide leadership with timely and reliable financial information Assist with financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions Maintain organized financial records to support audits and reporting requirements Credit Analysis & Risk Management Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing clients Establish appropriate credit limits and payment terms Monitor client financial stability and payment behavior Mitigate credit risk exposure within the company’s trading operations Strategic Finance Support Work closely with the CFO to support financial planning and operational strategy Contribute to maintaining standard operating procedures within the finance function Support corporate initiatives involving financial structuring, capital deployment, and growth planning Qualifications Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least several years supporting or operating within a small to mid‑sized business environment. Demonstrated experience working in growing or entrepreneurial companies, with the ability to adapt financial processes as the business scales. Strong background in financial controllership, accounting operations, and financial reporting.
Experience overseeing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and day‑to‑day accounting functions while maintaining strong financial controls. Proven ability to identify inefficiencies in financial processes and implement improvements that increase visibility, accuracy, and operational efficiency. Solid understanding of credit analysis, financial risk management, and customer credit evaluation.
Proficiency in modern accounting systems and financial software, with the ability to leverage technology to improve reporting and workflow efficiency. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with a high level of attention to detail. Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment where priorities may evolve as the business grows.
Professional, trustworthy, and able to communicate clearly with both operational teams and senior leadership.
