Financial Analyst

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support financial planning, reporting, operational analysis, and business performance initiatives across a dynamic organization. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams, including Commercial, Finance, Human Resources, Operations, and senior leadership, to deliver meaningful insights, improve financial processes, and support strategic decision-making. This is a six-month contract position.

The role is hybrid, with four days per week in our North York office Key Responsibilitie Financial Reporting & Business Analysis Support monthly close activities through financial analysis, account reviews, accrual preparation, and variance investigations Prepare recurring financial reports and performance dashboards for business leaders and management Analyze departmental spending and provide commentary on key trends, risks, and opportunities Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and ad hoc financial analysis to support operational and strategic initiatives Present actionable insights to stakeholders to improve financial and operational performance Inventory & Supply Chain Finance Coordinate financial processes related to inventory movements, product shipments, and supply chain transactions Monitor inventory balances and prepare regular inventory reporting packages Maintain cost databases and support the accuracy of inventory-related financial records Prepare and reconcile inventory and in-transit accruals as part of the month-end close process Investigate and resolve inventory-related variances and discrepancies Capital Planning & Investment Analysis Support the administration and tracking of capital projects and investment spending Monitor actual expenditures against approved budgets and forecasts Assist in the preparation of financial justifications, business cases, and return-on-investment analyses Collaborate with business leaders to evaluate and prioritize capital initiatives Provide post-implementation analysis and reporting on completed projects Commercial & Revenue Analytics Deliver sales and profitability analysis to support commercial decision-making Generate reports related to customer performance, sales trends, and business profitability Support the administration and reconciliation of customer incentive and rebate programs Validate financial data and ensure accurate reporting of commercial activities Respond to ad hoc analytical requests from business stakeholders Systems, Reporting & Process Improvement Participate in testing and validation activities related to system enhancements and reporting tools Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data quality, and financial processes Support automation initiatives and reporting enhancements Partner with Finance, Operations, Technology, and Commercial teams to streamline workflows and strengthen controls Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance business performance and reporting accuracy Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline 4+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, accounting, or business finance Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Experience supporting month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools Experience working with ERP systems, business intelligence platforms, or data visualization tools is an asset Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with both financial and operational stakeholders Exposure to capital investment analysis, operational finance, inventory accounting, or commercial finance is considered an asset #J-18808-Ljbffr
