Job Description
Position Overview Sr. Financial Analyst – Central Finance Office (Coral Gables Campus). The analyst reports to the Senior Manager of Finance and assists with monthly financial analysis, forecasting, and annual budget preparation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Conduct in‑depth expenditure analysis to support executive decision‐making. Prepare and coordinate documentation for budget, forecast, projection, and expense performance projects. Perform financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts.
Extract data from business application systems, provide detailed analysis at the University, division, and department levels, and present findings to the AVP of Financial Planning and Analysis and Chief Budget Officer. Ensure month‑end close and reporting, including estimates and accruals, are completed timely, in accordance with GAAP, with minimal variances. Assist the Executive Director of Finance in preparing, examining, and analyzing accounting records, monthly financial packages, and presentations for accuracy and conformance to standards.
Lead collaboration on the balance sheet project by segregating consolidated accounting records between Gables/Rosenstiel and UHealth/MSOM entities to enhance financial integrity. Create and maintain policies and procedures for areas such as external interest, investments, PP&E, pension, and NARR. Assist with visual enhancement and development of the annual plan of operations presentation.
Support the Executive Director and AVP of Financial Planning and Analysis on operational tasks and projects as needed. Key Performance Metrics Adherence to university values and behaviors. Meeting required deadlines.

Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (required). Master’s degree preferred. Work Experience Requirements At least 3 years of relevant professional work experience.
Proficiency in MS Office Excel. Experience in higher education and/or health service industries preferred. Experience in a central office setting a plus.
