Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join a growing organisation and play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, and supporting strategic decision-making. This position will also contribute to the ongoing digital transformation of the finance function through the enhancement of financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.

The successful candidate will work closely with finance and operational teams to ensure the delivery of timely, accurate, and insightful financial information while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

The Role:

  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of management accounts in accordance with reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare, review, and post journals, accruals, prepayments, and other month-end adjustments to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Produce cash flow forecasts and working capital analysis, providing meaningful commentary on key movements and variances.
  • Support regular financial reporting requirements for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including preparation of financial inputs, variance analysis, and review of assumptions.
  • Oversee bank and cash reconciliations, ensuring all reconciling items are investigated and resolved promptly.
  • Manage indirect tax compliance, ensuring accurate preparation and timely submission of statutory returns.
  • Support accounts payable and procurement processes to ensure accurate recording of supplier costs and alignment with financial reporting.
  • Partner with operational teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and financial reporting across projects and business activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement by contributing to the development and enhancement of financial systems, reporting tools, and finance processes.
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation and respond to external audit requirements, including the provision of reconciliations and supporting documentation.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and project support as required.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Approximately 3–5 years' post-qualification experience in a financial accounting or management accounting role.
  • Experience within a construction, engineering, manufacturing, contracting, or project-based environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate financial reporting and support process improvement initiatives.
