Financial Accountant

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established and highly successful international organisation based in Dublin 4.

This is a broad and varied finance role offering excellent exposure across financial reporting, tax, payroll, compliance and European operations. You will work closely with senior finance leadership and have the opportunity to play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the business across Europe.

The role would particularly suit a recently qualified accountant or someone with 1-3 years' post-qualified experience who is looking for greater responsibility, variety and strong long-term career progression.

The Role

Reporting directly to the European Financial Controller, you will work closely with the wider accounting, tax and accounts payable teams, as well as stakeholders across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, payments and general ledger transactions
• Reconciling and reviewing general ledger accounts
• Analysing financial information and providing insights to support management decision-making
• Monitoring and managing cash flow requirements
• Managing payroll-related activities across relevant jurisdictions, including shadow payroll
• Preparing and managing VAT and tax returns, payments and other regulatory requirements
• Reviewing financial results to ensure compliance with Transfer Pricing policies
• Supporting the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
• Monitoring project supply chains to ensure compliance with relevant local regulations
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Managing the audit process across relevant jurisdictions
• Working closely with HR on employment policies and processes
• Supporting the establishment of new entities across the European region
• Providing financial support and analysis to management on ad hoc projects
• Mentoring and supporting other members of the finance team

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• ACA or ACCA qualification
• A minimum of 1 year post-qualified experience
• At least 3 years' overall experience within an accounting or finance environment
• Strong financial accounting and reporting skills
• Experience using financial management systems such as SAP
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive approach and the confidence to work with stakeholders across different areas of the business
