Finance Manager
International Recruiting LLC
Job Description
What You Will Own
Operating & Capital Expense Management
• Own the company’s OpEx and CapEx budgets — build, track, and reforecast spend
across engineering, tape-out, and G&A categories
• Partner with engineering and program leads to plan capital spend on EDA tool licenses,
IP licenses, lab equipment, and prototype/tape-out costs
• Monitor burn rate and cash runway on an ongoing basis; flag variances early and
recommend corrective action to leadership
• Maintain and continuously update the company’s OpEx model as headcount, vendor
commitments, and program costs change
Payroll Administration
• Own end-to-end payroll processing — ensure accurate, on-time payroll for all employees
and contractors, including multi-state and multi-classification compliance
• Administer payroll-related withholdings, benefits deductions, and equity-related payroll
entries in partnership with People Ops/HR
• Maintain payroll records and respond to audit, tax, and compliance requests
Expense, Lease & Burden Cost Management
• Own the employee expense reimbursement process — review, approve, and reconcile
submitted expenses against policy• Manage lease obligations for office, lab, and equipment space — track payment
schedules, renewal dates, and amortization
• Own “burden” cost categories — benefits, insurance, facilities, and overhead allocations
— and ensure they are accurately reflected in the financial model
• Manage vendor invoicing and accounts payable so obligations are tracked and paid on
schedule
Financial Reporting & Executive Communication
• Prepare and deliver regular financial performance reporting to the CEO, COO, and
executive leadership team — actuals vs. budget, burn rate, runway, and forward outlook
• Build and maintain dashboards and models that give leadership real-time visibility into
spend and financial position
• Partner with outside accounting, tax, and audit firms on month-end close, tax filings, and
financial statement preparation
• Support fundraising and investor-reporting needs with accurate, audit-ready financial
data
What We Are Looking For
Required Experience
• 7+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including direct ownership of
OpEx and CapEx budgeting for a technology or engineering-driven company
• Hands-on payroll management experience, including multi-state, exempt/non-exempt,
and contractor-vs-employee classification
• Proven track record building and maintaining financial models, budget-to-actual
reporting, and cash-flow/runway forecasting
• Experience managing expense reimbursement, lease administration, and
vendor/accounts-payable processes
• Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy at a small, fast-moving company
— this is a hands-on function you will personally run, not one you will delegate to a large
team
Strongly Preferred
• Experience at a semiconductor, hardware, or other deep-tech startup — familiarity with
EDA tool licensing, IP licensing, and tape-out/NRE cost structures
• Experience preparing board-ready or investor-ready financial reporting packages
• Familiarity with equity compensation accounting and cap table fundamentals
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification
• Experience selecting, implementing, or administering financial, ERP, or payroll systems
(e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Gusto, ADP, or Rippling)

• High integrity and discretion — handles sensitive company and employee financial
information with sound judgment
• Clear, concise communicator who can translate financial detail into decision-ready
summaries for non-finance executives• Detail-oriented and organized; comfortable owning a wide surface area — budgeting,
payroll, AP, lease administration — without a large supporting team
• Proactive — surfaces issues and opportunities before being asked
