Job Description The Opportunity\nAthwal Resourcing is partnering with a growing UK business on a key hire within its FP&A function.\nWith turnover more than £130m and a clear strategy to scale further, the business is investing in its financial insight, reporting capability and commercial decision-making.\nThis role offers the opportunity to join at a pivotal stage and contribute to building a more commercially focused finance function.\nThe Role\nReporting to the FP&A Manager, as Finance Analyst you will play a key role in delivering financial analysis, reporting and insight to support both operational and strategic decision-making.\nThis is not a purely reporting role. You will work across finance and the wider business to improve visibility, enhance reporting, and support performance with a clear pathway into Finance Business Partnering.\nKey Responsibilities\nFinancial Analysis & Reporting\n * Produce accurate and timely financial reports, dashboards and management information,\n * Deliver detailed variance analysis across revenue and margin,\n * Support budgeting, forecasting and planning,\n * Develop financial models and scenario analysis,\nBusiness Intelligence & Data\n * Maintain BI dashboards and reporting,\n * Analyse data to identify trends, risks and opportunities,\n * Ensure data accuracy and consistency,\nProcess Improvement & Systems\n * Improve reporting using advanced Excel and data tools,\n * Streamline and enhance processes,\n * Support ongoing reporting development,\nStakeholder Engagement\n * Work with finance and non-finance stakeholders,\n * Explain financial performance clearly,\n * Support decision-making through insight.\nHow the Role Will Evolve\n0–6 months: Build understanding of the business, analyse performance and reporting\n6–12 months: Improve reporting, develop insight and add value\n12 months+: Partner stakeholders and support commercial decision-making\nYou will be a commercially minded finance professional with:\n * AAT or part qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience,\n * Experience in Finance Analyst, FP&A or Management Accounting,\n * Strong analytical and reporting capability,\n * Advanced Excel skills and experience with BI tools preferable,\n * Good understanding of financial performance drivers,\n * Curious and inquisitive mindset,\n * Proactive and solutions-focused,\n * Strong communication skills,\n * Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment\nAbout the Business\nThe business operates across multiple product lines within the construction and manufacturing sector, with a national footprint across manufacturing, warehousing and commercial teams.
