Our client is looking for an experienced Security / BMS Technician to support service, maintenance, fault finding and technical support across a facility-based contract environment. Roster: Mon-Fri 38-hour week Start date: ASAP Duration: 6 months, depending on client requirements Pay Rate: $65.00 - $75.00 p/h + Super Please note that only people with relevant experience will be considered.
The Role:
This role will suit an experienced Field Service Technician, Security Technician or BMS Technician with strong fault finding, troubleshooting and maintenance experience across electronic security, BMS, control systems and facility-based technical environments. You will be responsible for providing day-to-day service and maintenance across Honeywell and third-party equipment, responding to customer requests, diagnosing faults, completing repairs and supporting high-quality service delivery. The role will involve working across Security / BMS head-end systems, including software configuration of EBI, DVM, ECAS, CCTV, IP intercoms and DDC control equipment.
You will also support site documentation, quality assurance information, subcontractor coordination, small to medium project installations, materials ordering and customer liaison.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Carry out day-to-day service and maintenance across Security, BMS and electronic systems
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs on Security / BMS head-end systems
- Complete software configuration across EBI, DVM, ECAS, CCTV, IP intercoms and DDC control equipment
- Respond promptly to customer requests and provide clear follow-up communication
- Troubleshoot site-based issues and implement practical technical solutions
- Administer and utilise facilities systems including Agility, SharePoint, Teams and contract management systems
- Develop and maintain site-specific documentation and quality assurance information
- Support small to medium project installations, including coordination of subcontractors
- Estimate material costs and quantities and order parts as required
- Manage critical spare parts stock levels
- Support scheduled maintenance tasks, reactive faults and site service objectives
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, professionally and in line with site requirements
- Participate in site inspections, audits, HSE activities and risk assessments as required
- Liaise with clients, customers, subcontractors and internal teams to support high-quality service delivery
Required Experience:
- Previous experience as a Security Technician, BMS Technician, Field Service Technician, Electronics Technician or similar
- WA Security Installer Licence required
- ACMA Open Cabler Registration required
- Certificate III in Electronics and Communications or relevant Trade Certificate highly regarded
- Experience fault finding and repairing electronic equipment
- Experience with control systems, BMS and security systems
- Experience with EBI products highly regarded
- Strong troubleshooting, fault finding and problem diagnosis skills
- Intermediate to high computer skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Commitment to customer satisfaction and professional service delivery
- Strong safety focus and ability to follow site-specific HSE processes
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Experience working in facilities, commercial buildings, government, corrections, health, defence or critical infrastructure environments highly regarded
