Summary Our client, established in Sydney in 1998 and part of the global AMADA Group, provides advanced sheet-metal manufacturing solutions across Australia. Our client is seeking to add a Field Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) to support its machinery, technology and customer operations. The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Plan, design, coordinate and oversee the installation, commissioning, modification and ongoing operational performance of mechanical machinery, equipment and associated systems at customer sites.
- Analyse equipment performance data, operational parameters and failure modes to diagnose root causes of mechanical issues, and design and implement engineered solutions to restore, modify and optimise system performance.
- Interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications and design documents to develop detailed mechanical work plans, method statements, modification designs and execution strategies for installation and upgrade works.
- Develop and refine engineering specifications and technical recommendations for the selection, supply and application of mechanical equipment, machine tools, components and complementary systems to meet operational and performance requirements.
- Provide specialist mechanical engineering advice and technical guidance to clients on the correct operation, performance optimisation, modification, maintenance and upgrading of machinery and related mechanical systems.
- Apply engineering judgement to determine technical specifications, materials and critical spare parts requirements, ensuring continuous operational readiness and reliability of mechanical systems.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical and performance-related issues through systematic engineering analysis, root-cause investigation and the application of mechanical engineering principles and design solutions.
- Establish and apply engineering standards, quality requirements and safety regulations for the installation, modification, testing, inspection and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Conduct detailed site assessments to evaluate existing mechanical systems, supervise installation and commissioning activities, and verify that completed works meet design intent, performance criteria and engineering standards.
- Prepare accurate engineering documentation, technical reports, inspection records, as-built information and modification records relating to installation, commissioning, performance assessment and maintenance activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of mechanical design standards, commissioning procedures, maintenance practices and technical work methods through the sharing of specialised engineering knowledge.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant field
