Location: Danvers, Massachusetts Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School Facilities, Farm, and Grounds is seeking a Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of agricultural areas, manage crops, livestock, equipment, and animal oversight. The manager supervises staff, implements sustainable farming practices, coordinates planting and harvesting schedules, and ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Bilingual preferred.

Qualifications Minimum five (5) years managerial experience at a livestock and crop farm. Experience in the day‑to‑day management of all livestock, horses, and small animals. Demonstrated leadership ability and management skills.

Knowledge of methods, materials, and practices in landscaping and field management, including proper use and care of heavy equipment and farm machinery; superior mechanical skills. Excellent communication skills. Able to manage and navigate the computer‑based maintenance system.

Ability to solve problems with minimal supervision. Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer License and Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources Applicator License (Required within 9 months of hire) CDL preferred. Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Reporting To Director of Facilities, Farm, and Grounds Responsibilities Ensure agricultural facilities and equipment are safe, clean, and in working condition. Oversee all agricultural matters during and outside school hours. Maintain, improve, and harvest agricultural lands for optimum crop production using modern practices.

Participate in greenhouse operations to maximize crop production. Oversee campus snow‑removal operations. Manage the care and health of all livestock, horses, and small animals.

Act as the liaison to educational leaders for agricultural facilities. Provide demonstration lessons for students as requested. Maintain accurate records of crop production, breeding schedules, and machinery use/repairs.

Schedule and supervise agricultural support personnel and student workers. Carry out minor repairs, painting, cleaning, and other improvements. Develop and implement short‑ and long‑range maintenance programs for all facilities and equipment.

Assign tasks/jobs to farm staff. Develop and implement training for new employees. Prepare, submit, and manage budgets for the farm department.

Place orders for materials, supplies, and equipment. Maintain an efficient work‑order process. Collaborate with the Director on facility care and equipment maintenance.

Serve on the Safety and Security Team and enforce safety regulations. Evaluate farm staff performance. Provide updates to the Director on farm matters.

Accept additional responsibilities as directed by leadership. Terms and Conditions of Employment The position may require work outside regular hours, with priority given to essential tasks. Salaries, work days, and fringe benefits are established annually by the Superintendent Director according to school committee policies.

Job Details Position Type: Full‑Time Salary: $85,000 to $105,000 Per Year Job Requirements At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred. Associate degree preferred. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
