FAIR Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Aerospace FAIR Engineer to lead the preparation, review, and validation of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 / BS EN9102 standards. The successful candidate will ensure that design intent has been achieved , manufacturing processes are fully validated, and products are ready for repeatable serial production. This role requires close collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Suppliers to ensure timely completion and approval of FAIR packages.

Candidates must be capable of composing complete FAIR packages , not simply inspecting or reviewing them. Key Responsibilities Prepare, compile, and validate complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 / BS EN9102 . Ensure FAIR documentation demonstrates that: Design requirements have been fully met.

Manufacturing processes are capable and repeatable. The product is ready for serial production. Review engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, CAD data, manufacturing plans, and inspection requirements.

Complete Forms 1, 2 and 3 of the FAIR package. Verify dimensional, material, functional and process characteristics. Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Inspection, Procurement and Suppliers to resolve FAIR issues.

Create and maintain FAIR trackers, ensuring accurate status reporting. Update FAIR progress within internal quality management systems. Evaluate supplier FAIR submissions and provide technical feedback.

Support partial, delta and repeat FAIR activities following engineering changes or manufacturing changes. Ensure FAIR documentation is completed within agreed turnaround times and quality requirements. Drive closure of FAIR non-conformities and corrective actions.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to First Article Inspection processes. Qualifications Minimum 3–5 years' experience working specifically as a Aerospace FAIR Engineer (AS9102 / BS EN9102) Strong experience producing and validating First Article Inspection Reports . Experience composing complete FAIR documentation from engineering drawings.

Experience within aerospace or another highly regulated manufacturing environment. Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and technical specifications. Experience working with both mechanical and electrical assemblies .
