Facilities Manager (Temporary) Location: BristolHours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30Contract Type: TemporaryRate: Competitive / TBC The Role We’re currently working with a well-established organisation based in Bristol who are looking to appoint an experienced Facilities Manager on a long-term freelance basis. This is a hands-on role, ideally suited to a practical Facilities/ Maintenance Manager with compliance knowledge and experience managing both internal teams and external contractors.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the site, supporting business-critical operations across offices, workshops, yards and welfare facilities. You’ll act as the main point of contact for all facilities/Maintenance related matters on site. Key Responsibilities Day-to-day management of site facilities, including offices, workshops, and external areas Carrying out hands-on maintenance where required Planning and overseeing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works Managing facilities-related projects such as refurbishments and infrastructure improvements Maintaining accurate asset registers, maintenance records and lifecycle data Ensuring compliance with all relevant UK health & safety legislation and company policies Managing statutory inspections and certifications (fire, gas, electrical, LOLER, PUWER, Legionella, water hygiene, etc.) Leading facilities-related risk assessments, RAMS and safe systems of work Keeping audit-ready records and implementing corrective actions following inspections or audits Appointing, managing and monitoring external contractors and service providers Ensuring contractors adhere to site safety protocols, permits, inductions and RAMS Managing tendering and benchmarking exercises to ensure value for money Monitoring contractor performance against agreed scopes and SLAs Managing facilities spend within xwzovoh agreed budgets Identifying cost-saving and efficiency opportunities without compromising safety Overseeing site security, access control, cleaning services, waste management and sustainability initiatives Acting as the escalation point for site-wide facilities issues About You Proven experience in a Facilities/Maintenance or similar role Strong knowledge of UK health & safety and statutory compliance Experience working in engineering, construction, utilities or industrial environments Mechanical or electrical bias (Would be an advantage) Relevant technical qualifications (ONC/HNC/BTEC/City & Guilds)
