Job Description
The Event Sales Manager serves as a key revenue driver and a strategic member of the Sales and Operations leadership team. Based in Chicago, this role is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that maximize the profitability of private dining, buyouts, and off-site catering for a growing multi-unit, multi-concept restaurant group. The Event Sales Manager provides forward-looking sales leadership that enables aggressive revenue growth, guest loyalty, and scalable booking infrastructure.
This leader partners closely with Ownership, General Managers, and Executive Chefs to drive top-line sales, optimize space utilization, and ensure the seamless execution of high-level events across all markets. Core Responsibilities Strategic Revenue Growth: Develop and implement annual sales plans to meet and exceed budgeted banquet and event targets across multiple concepts. Market Positioning: Identify and penetrate key market segments (corporate, social, and DMC) to establish the group as a premier event destination in Chicago and expansion markets.
Lead Management & Conversion: Oversee the end-to-end sales funnel—from initial inquiry and site tours to contract negotiation and final "BEO" (Banquet Event Order) distribution. Operational Partnership: Collaborate with culinary and floor teams to ensure that event menus and service standards align with the unique identity of each concept. Scalable Infrastructure: Implement and manage sales CRM software and standardized booking procedures to ensure consistency and professional communication across the group.
Location & Travel Base: This position is based in Chicago, IL. Travel: Regular travel to various local units for site visits and client walkthroughs is required, with occasional travel to emerging markets as the group expands. Industry Requirement Hospitality Expertise: Direct experience in multi-unit restaurant event sales or high-volume hospitality environments is strictly required.
Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of managing a high-dollar sales portfolio ($3M+) across diverse concepts.
