Event Manager (12 Month Contract On-Site)

Our client, a dynamic organisation in the events industry, is seeking a talented Event Manager to orchestrate a variety of internal and external events that align with their strategic business objectives. About the Role:
As the Event Manager, you will work closely with the Events Team Leader and a dedicated group of event professionals. Your primary responsibility will be to design and deliver remarkable events, including large multi-day conferences, gala dinners, third-party exhibitions, and intimate customer visits-both nationally and internationally.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the creation and execution of outstanding events as part of the marketing strategy.
  • Supervise budgeting, scheduling, deliverables, vendor coordination, invoicing, contractual matters, logistics, and event reporting.
  • Champion the use of essential tools and processes, including the CRM system (Rexis) and the marketing content approval platform (Acadia).
  • Manage event budgets in alignment with the business plan.
  • Respond to and project manage internal and external event requests, including:

- Sourcing and contracting venues
- Managing content and speakers
- Tracking event budgets and raising purchase orders
- On-site event and delegate management
- Booking accommodations and travel
- Conducting risk assessments and ensuring health and safety compliance
- Monitoring registrations and formulating attendee lists

The Team:

  • Support the Team Leader with team engagement initiatives and regular check-ins.
  • Assist in meeting training needs and onboarding processes for team members.
  • Collaborate with the team to drive the delivery of marketing and business plans, suggesting corrective actions throughout the year.

Key Relationships:

  • Work collaboratively with event team members and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain essential relationships across the affiliate and global network.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
Essential:

  • Proven experience and in-depth knowledge of managing virtual, hybrid, and face-to-face events.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in budget management, communication, and organisational abilities.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and adaptability, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Understanding of the role of events within a commercial organisation.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with event-related platforms such as Cvent and Salesforce.
  • A degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Line management experience.
  • Knowledge of customer experience journeys/journey mapping.
  • Understanding of the diagnostic or healthcare industries, and/or relevant experience.
