Role Description The Event Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the event identity of Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni.
This position is responsible for both the sales and servicing of groups and events, managing the client journey from initial inquiry and proposal development through planning, coordination, and on-site execution. With a refined focus on cultivating inbound opportunities and proactively engaging new and established clientele, this leader drives the hotel's event business forward through strategic prospecting, relationship building, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Ideal candidates will bring demonstrated experience within a luxury hotel or comparable environment, paired with strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, and an intuitive ability to build and sustain meaningful client partnerships.
A self-directed, polished, and solutions-oriented approach is essential. Responsibilities include the full spectrum of event management—from generating new business opportunities and negotiating contracts to coordinating event details, managing client communications, and ensuring seamless execution of each event experience. The role also encompasses hosting clients for immersive site visits and entertainment engagements, conducting strategic sales calls, and representing the hotel at key client and industry events.
Candidates must possess a deep understanding of the local social events market and corporate events landscape, along with insight into the competitive set for luxury special events.
