The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation was created by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, creator, and owner of the easy family of brands including easyJet (see www.easy.com www.easyHistory.info) and President of the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation www.stelios.foundation (UK Charity No 1441206 & Company No 07567138). HQ address: 34 Thurloe Square, London SW7 2SR.
The Stelios Foundation supports UK registered charities through cash grants but also supporting them with their charitable events. The stelios foundation is currently in the process of acquiring the freehold of a new event venue on the river Thames by Putney Bridge, London SW15. The venue that will be known as the Stelios foundation conference hall will have the capacity of up to 150 guests for a seated dinner once fully renovated .
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Events Manager to take responsibility for the successful operation and deliver of approximately 50 charitable events each year at the venue . The event manager will have to identify and agree with about 50 suitably qualified UK registered charities who will be offered the use the venue free of charge with a cash donation from the Foundation to the charities to cover their catering and production costs at the venue.
Salary c£40k pa gross depending on hours worked and experience.
Working hours will vary depending on what events are taking place at the Stelios foundation conference hall , with long shifts and evening work required Monday to Friday and occasional weekend work, with some overseas travel.
Holidays 20 days paid holiday a year in addition to the 8 public bank holidays .

Responsibilities:
• Directly report to Tracy Ghori, Foundation’s UK Charity Coordinator with a dotted line to Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, Founder and President.
• Event management. Organise and supervise events held at the Stelios foundation conference hall venue with a capacity of up to 150 guests for seated dinners.
• Operations and Office Management. Managing the Foundation’s buildings, facilities and day to day office operations.
• Update and development of Foundation’s website (WordPress), Salesforce and social media on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
• Assisting with entrepreneurial awards run by the Foundation in the UK and Ireland. Including collating information, processing in excel, creating PowerPoint presentations, interviews, and the awards event itself.
• The Stelios foundation reserves the right to hire two members of Staff as charity event managers to provide adequate cover
Skills and Experience:
• Degree. Preferred if in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field.
• Relevant experience in a similar role in the charity sector or had exposure to charities’ work will be a plus.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events concurrently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
• Will need to show initiative, enthusiasm, flexibility, be a team player, good time-management, attention to detail and a friendly and professional approach.
• Proven ability to coordinate events from enquiry through to successful delivery including being responsible for all AV requirements.
• Competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, WordPress, and social media.
• Assist in financial tasks including creation of purchase orders via SAGE and organise online banking payments.
