We’re seeking a passionate Engineer III to join team and drive excellence in engineering and construction at solid waste disposal facilities.

This role is perfect for someone with strong problem-solving, management, and technical skills, who is excited by the opportunity to work on diverse, high-impact projects. What You’ll Do: Leadership & Project Management: Direct and manage consulting firms for tasks such as permit applications, construction plans, regulatory submittals, and site monitoring. Oversee landfill construction projects – from bid documents and contractor coordination to project completion and quality assurance.

Act as the key liaison with regulatory agencies, representing our organization at permit meetings, hearings, and site inspections. Technical & Financial Oversight: Manage engineering and construction projects while actively tracking capital budgets and preparing detailed reports. Coordinate landfill capacity tracking, including developing airspace calculations, capacity projections, and efficient fill sequencing plans.

Provide innovative, cost-effective engineering solutions by collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and subject matter experts. Mentor and supervise technical staff and junior team members, sharing your expertise and helping shape the future of environmental engineering. Strategic Involvement: Participate in acquisition reviews and divestiture evaluations to support key strategic initiatives.

What We’re Looking For: Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, or Environmental preferred) Minimum of 5 years of related experience with in-depth knowledge of environmental regulations (solid waste, air, stormwater, wastewater) and landfill design/permitting. Skills & Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse audiences Willingness to travel up to 50%, including visits to remote locations Prior experience with landfill and construction projects is highly desirable.
