Join a Mission That Matters! Become a Border Patrol Agent If you are seeking a fulfilling long-term career in federal law enforcement, look no further! The U.S.

Border Patrol (USBP) invites you to begin your journey toward becoming an entry-level Border Patrol Agent, a role that actively contributes to the safety and security of our nation and its citizens. USBP is urgently hiring full-time, entry-level positions in federal law enforcement, where relevant experience in public safety, security, military, or law enforcement could qualify you. This is your opportunity to train and collaborate with an elite team of professionals that prioritize camaraderie and dedication in their mission to protect America.

Now is the perfect time to apply, as we are offering attractive base pay, outstanding benefits, and job stability, along with up to $60,000 in additional incentives (details below). You will have access to a comprehensive package of federal employment benefits, including health, dental, and other insurance options, a generous leave program, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan (a retirement plan similar to a traditional ROTH 401(k)). *Recruitment Incentive* Newly appointed Border Patrol Agents are eligible for up to $20,000 in incentives, with the first $10,000 given after successfully completing the Border Patrol Academy and the remaining $10,000 for accepting a prioritized location. *Retention Incentive* Agents may also qualify for up to $40,000 in additional incentives during their first four years.

Duty Locations Duty assignments will primarily be along the Southwest Border, which may require relocation. While we will consider your preferences, operational needs will dictate your final assignment. Duty locations affect pay rates, and fully trained Agents may be eligible for an additional 25% of base pay based on the BPA Pay Reform Act of 2014.

Job Responsibilities Joining our team means becoming a vital part of over 60,000 personnel dedicated to protecting the American populace by securing our borders and deterring unlawful activities. Preventing the cross-border smuggling of undocumented individuals through vigilant surveillance and nighttime operations.

Tracking physical evidence related to illegal entries or contraband. Conducting farm, building, traffic, and city patrol checks. Using various government resources such as vehicles and ATVs to patrol designated areas effectively.

Qualifications To qualify at the GL-5 grade, you must meet one of the following: One year of general work experience demonstrating decision-making and composure in stressful situations OR A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college OR A combination of relevant experience and education. For GL-7 grade, qualifications include: One year of specialized work experience reflecting skills in law enforcement decision-making and handling sensitive situations effectively. A bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement or a relevant graduate-level education OR A combination of experience and education relevant to law enforcement.

Must have primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years. Must be under 40 years of age unless you have previous federal law enforcement experience. Veterans' preference may apply; qualified veterans are exempt from age restrictions.
