Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic English Language Teacher to join our academy in Vigo, Spain.

This is a part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week, working Monday to Friday in the afternoons from 4:00 pm onwards. You will teach children and teenagers, with students starting from 4 years old.

We are a Cambridge English Preparation Centre, so experience preparing students for Cambridge English exams (Pre A1 Starters, A1 Movers, A2 Flyers, A2 Key, B1 Preliminary, B2 First, etc.) is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging and effective English lessons to children and teenagers.
  • Prepare students for Cambridge English examinations.
  • Create a positive, supportive and motivating classroom environment.
  • Adapt lessons to suit different ages and learning styles.
  • Keep the classroom and teaching materials organised.
  • Take initiative and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the academy.

We're looking for someone who

  • Has native-level English proficiency or holds a C2 English language certification.
  • Has experience teaching English to young learners.
  • Has excellent classroom management skills.
  • Is confident working with children from 4 years of age through to teenagers.
  • Has experience preparing students for Cambridge English exams, or is willing to learn.
  • Is organised, reliable and proactive.
  • Can work independently and take initiative.
  • Is enthusiastic, patient and enjoys helping students build confidence in English.

Formal teaching qualifications are welcome but not essential. We place greater value on practical teaching experience, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop.

Spanish is not required, as all classes are taught 100% in English, although some knowledge of Spanish may be helpful for day-to-day life.

Applicants must already have the legal right to work in Spain and reside in Vigo.
