Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role and can be based in any Midwest or East Coast city, close to a major airport.
Work will be a combination of work from home and on site at various locations. In this role, you will oversee material handling equipment (MHE) projects, ensuring successful planning, execution, and completion. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with procurement teams, managing schedules, budgets, and vendors, and facilitating communication between cross-functional teams.
Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering required. No substitutions for other engineering disciplines or general equivalent experience. 3-7 years’ experience leading multi-site MHE projects in distribution, warehousing, manufacturing, or logistics environments. Direct experience specifying, deploying, or replacing IPV (industrial powered vehicles) and related MHE systems, including batteries, chargers, and fleet support infrastructure.
Direct experience managing capital projects involving MHE refresh, site startup, fleet standardization, or propane-to-electric conversion. Working knowledge of MHE fleet telemetry, utilization analysis, and/or maintenance/cost data used to drive replacement decisions and total cost of ownership. Experience working directly with OEMs, dealers, maintenance providers, site operations to scope equipment, validate application fit, and resolve performance issues.
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD platform for reviewing layouts, charging areas, traffic flow, and equipment-related site changes. Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to support multi-site field execution. Preferred Experience with lithium-ion, fast-charge, and opportunity-charge battery strategies in warehouse or manufacturing operations.
Experience implementing fleet telemetry platforms for forklifts Experience using SAP or similar ERP/asset system for project tracking, capital planning, or equipment records. Experience with lease-vs-buy analysis, lifecycle costing, and capital requests Experience supporting greenfield or brownfield warehouse/distribution projects involving MHE setup or reconfiguration. OSHA/safety-driven experience related to industrial truck operations, charging areas, and site traffic flow.
