Engineering Manager – Geotechnical

Title: Engineering Manager – Geotechnical Experience Level: 10+ Years Department: Engineering Design & Research Centre (EDRC) – Geotechnical Location: Chennai, India Reporting To: Design Section Head / Design Division Head – Geotechnical Employment Type: Full-Time Role Objective: To lead and manage geotechnical engineering design activities across various infrastructure and construction projects. The role demands high proficiency in geotechnical analysis, foundation design, ground improvement, earth retention and roads and integration of design deliverables in alignment with regulatory and organizational standards. Key Responsibilities: Provide geotechnical design and prepare deliverables including GFC drawings, BOQs, and design documents. Design of Piling and Ground improvement techniques including execution (Preferred). Design of earth retention systems, grade slab, roads and pavers. Hands on experience with Indian and International codes for buildings. Coordinate with civil, architectural, and other services to ensure seamless integration as per project requirement. Mentor and supervise junior geotechnical engineers, guiding them in the application of soil mechanics, foundation design, and related competencies. Conduct site visits for verification of foundation works and support execution process in coordination with site for timely completion.

Coordinate with institutions for prompt approval of documents and drawings. Qualifications: Education: M.E./M.Tech/PhD in Geotechnical Engineering. Certifications: Membership in professional bodies like ASCE/IGS/ICE (Preferred) Software Skills: PLAXIS, Geo5, Wallap, CADSpile, and AutoCAD.
