Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy at our Toronto office. The Opportunity We’re looking for a seasoned leader to take the helm of our Toronto engineering function and spearhead our expansion across North America.
As a key leadership hire, you will own the full engineering lifecycle—from mentoring a cross‑functional team of FE, BE, Mobile, and QA specialists to hardening our platform for the rigours of the Canadian regulated market. If you are passionate about building high‑uptime systems and fostering a culture of technical ownership and rapid innovation, this is your opportunity to make a lasting mark on our global footprint. What You’ll Do Strategic Leadership: Serve as the primary technical authority in our Toronto office, bridging the gap between local execution and global technical strategy.
Team Building & Mentorship: Lead the full recruitment lifecycle for the Toronto hub. You will coach, mentor, and develop engineers and leads through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and personalized growth roadmaps. Operational Excellence: Drive Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) to optimize delivery cycles and maintain a predictable, high‑quality shipping cadence.
Technical Oversight: Provide high‑level architectural guidance and technical direction. While you won't be coding daily, you will be responsible for the integrity of our system design, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure. Platform Evolution: Identify and advocate for the reduction of technical debt, ensuring the platform scales effectively as we expand across regulated markets.
Cross‑Functional Partnership: Work closely with Product Managers and Stakeholders to balance resource allocation with ambitious product roadmaps. What You Bring Experience: 8+ years in Software Engineering with at least 2+ years of experience managing multi‑disciplinary, cross‑functional teams. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Technical Breadth: Strong proficiency in modern system design, microservices architecture, and secure development practices (OWASP). Tooling: Hands‑on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure). The iGaming Mindset: Experience in high‑uptime, regulated, or high‑transaction environments (iGaming, Fintech, or AdTech) is a significant asset.
Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders. Why Join Us? We believe that our people are our greatest asset, and we are committed to fostering a supportive and high‑energy work environment.
Comprehensive Health Benefits: Robust extended health, dental, and vision coverage from day one. Time Off: 20 days of paid vacation plus additional paid sick days to ensure you stay rested and healthy. Culture: A collaborative team environment where we care deeply for our employees and our social impact.
Stability: A full‑time, in‑office role (5 days a week) in a professional and modern workspace. #J-18808-Ljbffr
