Engineering Intern – Johnson Electric Location: Ancaster, ON, Canada (onsite) Salary Range: $22-$24 per hour Vacancy Type: Co‑op Position Schedule: Full‑time, Day shift Relocation: Not Applicable Travel: Minimal Responsibilities Actively participates in the development and implementation of processes, part development and equipment selection/installation Provides assistance in recommending modifications to tooling, plant equipment and prototypes in development to permit economical manufacturing and meet performance specifications and serviceability requirements Supports and participates in production team meetings to review and resolve Quality, Service, Operations, Facilities, Human Resources and Health & Safety issues when required Acts as a technical resource and provides support to human resources, processes, products, and equipment within the area assigned on a day‑to‑day basis Contributes towards meeting the goals of producing quality parts, on‑time and at the lowest possible cost Develops Standard Operating Procedures for Operators and Tool Setters Communicates with Production and other departments on a regular basis to keep them well informed of progress in technological advances made within the scope of this position Participates in continuous improvement initiatives Adheres to Johnson Electric Canada’s policies and procedures Adheres to and supports Stackpole’s Safety and Environmental policies and practices Ensures the requirements of the Quality Management System, IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 are complied with Other duties as assigned Qualifications Third‑ or Fourth‑Year Engineering student in Mechanical, Industrial (Manufacturing Option), or Materials discipline Technical & Skill Requirements Strong analytical skills, acute attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with a variety of people High level of motivation, initiative and interest in personal achievement Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels of the organization High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation Knowledge of AutoCAD, DraftSight or any CAD skills SolidWorks skills Programming skills (Python) preferred Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word proficiency Work Environment Primarily office environment with some time spent in manufacturing facilities Day shift Equal Opportunity Employer Johnson Electric welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities and is committed to providing an inclusive and barrier‑free recruitment and selection process.
