Engineering Drafter

Position: Engineering Drafter - Specialty Construction Location: Deer Park, NY Company/Industry: Well-established architectural fabrication/specialty construction firm Schedule: On-site, Mon-Fri Salary: $40-50 per hour, depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate Type: Direct Hire with benefits Responsibilities Produce detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings Interpret architectural plans, specifications, and field measurements Collaborate with project managers, engineers, fabricators, and installers Prepare cut tickets, material take?offs, and technical documentation Ensure drawings meet project requirements, tolerances, and specialty material standards Revise drawings based on RFIs, site conditions, and client changes Support engineering problem?solving related to fit, structure, and constructability Maintain drawing accuracy and version control throughout the project lifecycle Qualifications Experience drafting for specialty construction required: stone, millwork, metal & glass, façade systems, or similar Strong AutoCAD proficiency (2D required; 3D a plus) Ability to understand engineering concepts, tolerances, and fabrication processes Experience preparing shop drawings for custom architectural elements Strong math and measurement skills Ability to work closely with PMs, fabricators, and field teams Detail?oriented with strong problem?solving abilities Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $40.00 - $50.00
