Job Summary We are seeking a Water Engineer in the Washington D.C. area to support water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
This role is ideal for someone with strong GIS and AutoCAD skills who is looking to build design experience while working closely with clients and project teams. Responsibilities Support engineering design and consulting efforts for water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects. Prepare hydraulic and hydrologic calculations to assist in system evaluations and design development.
Utilize GIS and AutoCAD to develop, modify, and maintain project drawings, maps, dashboards, and technical documentation. Support infrastructure condition assessments and contribute to rehabilitation planning efforts. Assist with permitting, cost estimating, and preparation of construction contract documents.
Participate as a team member, supporting design tasks and building hands‑on design experience. Engage directly with clients, providing clear communication, project updates, and presentations of deliverables. Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support knowledge sharing across the group.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred. 3–6 years of experience in water, wastewater, and/or stormwater engineering consulting. Strong proficiency in GIS and AutoCAD with experience supporting engineering design and documentation. Foundational understanding of infrastructure design, including pipelines, manholes, pump systems, and grading plans.
Understanding of soil conditions and erosion and sediment control practices. EIT required; PE license or ability to obtain within one year strongly preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients and clearly present technical information both verbally and in writing.

The base compensation range for this position is $81,200–$121,800 annually for the local market.
