Engineer: Project Engineer
ASEM Solutions
Job Description
Barcelona · Full-time · Hybrid
ASEM-Solutions is a specialized AV systems integrator with operations in Barcelona and Ghent (Belgium).
We design and deliver professional audiovisual and video collaboration environments, from meeting rooms and hybrid classrooms to auditoriums and complex integrated AV systems. We combine advanced technology with simple, reliable user experiences.
We are looking for an AV Project Engineer to join ASEM-Solutions in Barcelona and take increasing ownership of projects from design and configuration through commissioning and handover.
Depending on your experience, you will progressively take responsibility for small, medium, and complex AV projects , with a clear opportunity to grow into a Technical Lead role.
What you'll do
- Take ownership of AV integration projects from preparation to final handover.
- Configure, commission and troubleshoot professional AV systems.
- Work with audio DSP, AV-over-IP, videoconferencing, video distribution, streaming and control systems.
- Prepare, configure and test systems before deployment.
- Coordinate installations and work directly with customers, manufacturers and other contractors.
- Produce project documentation and as-built information.
- Provide technical support and diagnose complex system issues.
- Progressively participate in system design, engineering and technical decisions.
What we're looking for
We are primarily looking for candidates with professional experience in AV systems integration . We will also consider relevant experience in closely connected areas of professional AV where the technical skills are directly transferable.
You should have:
- Solid understanding of professional audio and video systems.
- Good networking fundamentals: IP addressing, VLANs, multicast and network troubleshooting.
- Experience configuring, commissioning, and troubleshooting AV systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for delivering a working system.
- Good communication skills with customers and technical partners.
- Fluent Spanish and good understanding of Catalan.
- Working proficiency in English.
- Valid driving license.
- Availability for on-site work at customer locations and occasional travel.
Experience with Q-SYS, Dante, Shure, Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Netgear AV, NDI, video production or broadcast technologies will be highly valued, but we don't expect candidates to know our entire technology stack.
Relevant manufacturer certifications are also valued.
How we work
The role combines office-based work in the Barcelona area, teleworking, and on-site work at customer locations , depending on the project and the tasks involved.
Projects involve engineering, system configuration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and direct interaction with customers and technology partners.
What we offer
You'll join a specialized company where you can have a direct impact on how projects are designed and delivered.
Rather than working on just one part of a large project, you'll have the opportunity to understand and progressively manage the complete AV project lifecycle .
We offer:
- Permanent full-time position.
- Flexible working environment combining office, teleworking and customer sites.
- Technically challenging and varied AV projects.
- Training and manufacturer certifications.
- Significant autonomy as your experience grows.
- Direct contact with customers and leading AV manufacturers.
- Clear development path towards Technical Lead , including responsibility for complex system design and project delivery.
We are open to different levels of experience. What matters most to us is a strong AV technical foundation, curiosity, reliability, autonomy, and the ability to solve problems .
