\nResponsible for managing and developing the Culture Club programme and Culture Club Projects.
About the role\nThe Engagement Manager is a key member of the Engagement team at Dublin City Council Culture Company. As Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing the Culture Club programme and Culture Club Projects and line managing the work of two Engagement Coordinators. You will support the delivery of our values by creating new ways for people to access cultural activities more easily and confidently, and by developing opportunities for people to make and experience culture in their own way.
\nYou will work closely with the Director of Engagement to strategically develop these programmes in line with the Company’s goals and values. You will develop and grow the programmes to enable more people to access the city’s cultural offer and create new pathways for people to participate in culture.
\nThe role will involve developing programme offers based on ongoing research, feedback and conversations with current and past participants, cultural partners, individuals and community groups. You will also support additional Engagement programmes where necessary.
About the Engagement Function\nThe Engagement function develops ways for people to access cultural activities with greater ease and confidence, helping them develop and grow their cultural habits.
\nThe Engagement team actively listens to the people of Dublin and values their perspectives on the city and cultural life. Working with children and young people, individuals, community groups, cultural partners and stakeholders, the team creates opportunities for everyone to explore and experience culture across the city.
\nThe team works closely with all our teams across the Company and our programme partners, sharing insights and ensuring a consistent, informed approach to public engagement, learning and education.
Culture Club\nis a series of hosted talks, tours, workshops, and performances that introduce people to galleries, libraries, museums and creative places across Dublin City. Working closely with our partners, we create opportunities for people to access cultural activity more easily and confidently, develop their cultural habits, and connect with the city and each other.
Culture Club Projects\ncreates ways for people to make culture together, shaped by their ideas and interests. We connect people with artists, libraries, museums and cultural organisations across the city. Through workshops and activities within communities or at cultural venues, people can discover new interests, share different ideas, build connections and explore their own creativity.
Key Focus AreasProgramme Management and Development:\nLead the development and delivery of Culture Club and Culture Club Projects, ensuring that they are accessible for all, providing people with the opportunity to connect with culture and each other. You will collate and analyse participant feedback, research and programme data to continuously improve the offer.
Audience Development and Public Engagement:\nDevelop new audiences and participants for the programmes that you manage, creating pathways for people to engage with culture with greater ease and confidence. Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen ways for audiences to experience the full range of cultural opportunities across the company.
Partnerships and Advocacy:\nDevelop, manage and strengthen meaningful partnerships with community groups, cultural organisations, artists, practitioners and other stakeholders. Identify and develop new strategic partnerships that create opportunities for people to explore and participate in culture, while ensuring existing partnerships with cultural organisations continue to deliver mutual benefit and meet programme objectives. Share learning from our programmes through Company communications, networks and advocacy activity.

Reports to:\nDirector of Engagement
Key relationships:\nYou will work closely with the Engagement team and teams across the Company, as well as artists, cultural partners, community groups, participants, stakeholders and other programme partners.
Salary:\n€44,103 gross per annum.
Pension:\nAll employees who meet the requirements will be auto-enrolled in the Government My Future Fund retirement saving scheme when they begin work. Upon completion of their six month probationary period, staff will be eligible to join the company scheme. Dublin City Council Culture Company offers a personal retirement savings account (PRSA) scheme, where the company will match employee contributions of up to 10% of salary Employees may choose to remain in the MyFutureFund scheme once they have completed their probation or to opt out and join the company pension scheme.

This process measures performance, considers training and development opportunities and is used to determine any reward (pay award) that may be applicable.

1. Managing People and Working Across the Company\n- \n
- Line manage the two Engagement Coordinators responsible for Culture Club and Culture Club Projects, including resource planning, goal setting, support, training, probation and performance reviews. \n
- Work collaboratively with the Engagement team and colleagues across the Company to deliver departmental and cross-company programmes and projects. \n
- Build relationships across the Company and stay informed about other programmes and activities to support collaboration and broaden engagement. \n
- \n
- Manage, develop and deliver the Culture Club programme, Culture Club Projects and other assigned projects.- \n
- Facilitate Culture Club and Culture Club Project sessions and support coordinators, artists, facilitators and practitioners to deliver high-quality experiences for participants. \n
- Develop new opportunities with cultural partners that enable individuals and community groups to develop cultural confidence and habits. \n
- Develop and maintain effective systems and processes for programme delivery, ensuring consistent practice across the team. \n
- Use participant and partner feedback, research and programme data to evaluate and continuously improve the programmes. \n
- Manage programme administration and financial processes, including POs, invoices and partner liaison. \n

- Work collaboratively with the Engagement team to increase participation and expand the range of opportunities available through Culture Club and Culture Club Projects. \n
- Monitor participation and engagement trends to identify opportunities for audience growth and longer-term engagement. \n
- Contribute to the strategic development of the Engagement team’s programmes and the implementation of the Company’s Public Engagement Plan.
\n Keep accessibility and inclusion at the forefront of programme planning and delivery. \n

- Develop and maintain productive relationships with community groups, cultural organisations, artists, participants and other partners. \n
- Create new strategic partnerships that provide opportunities for people to explore and experiment through culture. \n
- Monitor and evaluate partnerships to ensure they deliver mutual benefit and meet programme objectives. \n
- Work with the Director of Engagement and Communications Coordinator to promote Culture Club and Culture Club Projects through newsletters, social media and other communications. \n
- Develop partner reports and contribute to sharing learning through Company communications, external networks, awards, publications and advocacy activity. \n

- A minimum of 3 years experience of managing and delivering cultural, community engagement, public engagement, learning or participation programmes, including programme administration, reporting and financial processes. \n
- A minimum of 2 years experience of line management and supporting the development and performance of team members. \n
- Experience of developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with cultural organisations, community groups and/or other relevant stakeholders, with the ability to develop partnerships that support shared objectives. \n
- Experience of developing audiences or participants, with an understanding of how to create pathways for people to engage with cultural activity and develop opportunities for longer-term cultural participation. \n
- Experience of using data, feedback and evaluation to assess programmes, demonstrate impact and inform future programme development. \n
- An understanding of the work of Dublin City Council Culture Company and its ambitions. \n
- Experience working in the cultural, community development, arts, heritage, museum or related sectors. \n
