Electronic Repair Engineer Type: Permanent Location: Austin, TX (On‑site) Compensation Salary: $150,000- $190,000 Full Benefits Package Job Description I am hiring for a client that is looking for an Electronic Repair Engineer to repair, upgrade, modify, and verify subcomponents of complex automatic, logic‑controlled electronic and electro‑mechanical equipment at the component level. Responsibilities include: Troubleshooting and repairing to the component level Performing complex failure analysis and diagnostics Using advanced test and diagnostic equipment Performing calibrations traceable to the National Bureau of Standards Improvising circuits or equipment for specialized needs Independently managing assigned projects Operating, adjusting, and maintaining complex instrumentation Working in high‑pressure environments with shifting priorities Following safe working procedures at all times Required Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering 3–4 years of directly related electro‑mechanical experience Strong component‑level troubleshooting ability Ability to interpret electrical datasheets and terminology Proficient soldering and de‑soldering skills, including: Surface Mount Ball Grid Array (BGA) High‑density components Prior experience repairing hardware systems preferred Equivalent combination of education and experience considered Nice to Have Skills High‑power DC supply repair, testing, and calibration (1kW–80kW) AC and DC servo/stepper motor rebuild and testing Embedded systems hardware/firmware (CPLD, FPGA, MPU, etc.) Senior‑level experience with AC/DC circuitry and advanced test equipment Simulation and design tools: LabVIEW, Python, Multisim, Cadence, or similar Hardware programming languages: VHDL, Verilog, JTAG
