About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician to join the DECA team at Welsh Road, Flintshire, on a 6-month contract.
The role involves practical engineering work within a workshop environment, supporting day-to-day activities across electrical engineering, avionics systems and cabling/wiring.
This is a fully site-based role, 5 days per week, with no remote working.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out practical engineering and technical tasks.
- Support electrical, avionics and cabling activities.
- Complete routine hands-on engineering work.
- Use tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow health & safety and COSHH procedures.
- Wear PPE as required.
- Support experienced technicians with day-to-day tasks.
Essential Experience
- Demonstrable hands-on engineering experience.
- Electrical, avionics, electronics or cabling/wiring background.
- Experience working in a workshop or similar practical environment.
- Comfortable with physically demanding work, including standing, lifting, pushing and pulling.
- Strong health & safety awareness and ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable
- Level 3 engineering/electrical qualification or equivalent.
- Aviation, defence, electronics or electrical engineering experience.
Working Hours
Start times are between 7:00am–9:00am, with finishes between 3:30pm–6:00pm. Exact hours will be agreed with the line manager.
The role is based in an open workshop environment, which can involve noise and handling chemicals under COSHH procedures. PPE is provided and reasonable adjustments can be considered.
