Job Title: EMC Engineer Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Employment Type : Full-Time Job Summary The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring aircraft systems comply with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) standards. They will support aircraft protection against electromagnetic threats including lightning, HIRF, ESD, and inter-system EMI. The candidate should be capable of evaluating aircraft-level modifications, reviewing certification documentation, and supporting compliance with FAA, EASA, and Transport Canada regulations.

Responsibilities Evaluate aircraft electrical systems and EMC performance through testing and analysis methods Assess compliance with lightning, HIRF, ESD, and EMI/EMC certification requirements Review EMC qualification documentation including RF susceptibility, emissions, and lightning effects Analyze aircraft-level modifications and non-conformances for regulatory compliance Support fuel tank safety and explosion prevention assessments Participate in supplier meetings and design reviews for system optimization Maintain engineering documentation and support continued airworthiness projects Contribute to team objectives by providing technical EMC solutions and recommendations Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Minimum 5 years of EMC/EMI engineering experience in the aerospace industry Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory, antennas, signal integrity, and transmission line phenomena Familiarity with DO-160, FAA regulations, SAE ARP standards, and certification requirements Experience with aircraft systems and avionics integration Strong problem-solving, technical, math, and analytical skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Aerospace or aircraft domain experience Knowledge of FAA 14 CFR 25.954 and 25.981 regulations Experience with EMA3D simulation tools Familiarity with TC, FAA, or EASA certification processes Ability to obtain DAD/DAR status preferred
