Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of industrial motor control systems for oil and gas production applications. In this role, you will own end-to-end electrical design across 480VAC, 120VAC, and 24VDC systems—from system architecture and schematics to detailed layouts and component selection—while ensuring robust, field-ready performance. As a senior member of the team, you will provide technical leadership and guidance to junior electrical designers, establish best practices, and review designs to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance.

This role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver scalable, high‑performance control solutions that operate reliably in demanding field environments. Responsibilities Design detailed industrial motor control panel schematics for 480VAC, 120VAC, and 24VDC systems using AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN Develop control panel layouts, ensuring proper component placement, accessibility, and compliance with design standards Perform thermal analysis and specify appropriate heating and cooling solutions for control panels Lead component selection with consideration for performance, reliability, cost, lead times, and supply chain constraints Collaborate with Applications Engineering to align designs with system requirements and customer use cases Work with Supply Chain and vendors to support component sourcing, customization, and quality assurance Create and maintain technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, mounting details, installation guides, and programming support materials Review designs and provide guidance to junior electrical designers to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to standards Support continuous improvement of design practices, standards, and panel engineering processes Ensure designs are optimized for field deployment in demanding oil and gas production environments Skills End-to-end industrial motor control panel design experience (480VAC, 120VAC, 24VDC) Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN for production-ready electrical designs Strong understanding of motor control systems, electrical distribution, and control panel architecture Experience with thermal management and enclosure design considerations Knowledge of oil & gas production environments and field-deployed equipment requirements Component selection expertise balancing technical performance, cost, and lead times Familiarity with industrial automation, instrumentation, and control system integration Ability to interpret and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, applications, supply chain, and vendors Experience mentoring or supporting junior designers in a technical environment Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented mindset Ability to manage multiple design projects in a fast-paced, production-focused environment Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 5+ years experience in oil well and field production applications is preferred Proven ability to excel in demanding technical environments, demonstrated through academic or professional distinction Experience designing industrial control panels or motor control systems Hands‑on experience with AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN Familiarity with oil & gas, well operations, or industrial field environments Exposure to IIoT, automation, or remote monitoring systems What We Offer Paid Vacation Company paid Benefit package A team culture built on technical excellence, accountability, and continuous growth, where strong ideas are valued and individual contributions make a real impact #J-18808-Ljbffr
