Senior Electrical Engineer Join Dillon Consulting Limited as a Senior Electrical Engineer. You will lead multidisciplinary electrical projects, drive business development, and mentor junior staff while delivering superior client experience across public and private sector projects. Office locations: Kingston, Ottawa, or Toronto.

Responsibilities Project Management & Design: Manage multidisciplinary projects for public and private sector clients, with an emphasis on electrical components. Provide technical expertise on projects, including: Preparation of electrical design drawings such as single‑line diagrams, site plans, power & distribution floor plans, lighting layouts, fire alarm layouts, motor controls, panel board schedules, and equipment schedules.
Preparation of wiring diagrams, electrical details, and photometric analysis of lighting systems. Voltage drop calculations, contract documents, and specifications. Site visits and contract administration.
Provide on‑site services for inspections, equipment start‑up, and commissioning. Business Development: Manage margins and optimize sales strategies to drive revenue and company growth. Develop and execute strategies to build a robust sales pipeline.
Identify and qualify potential customers, assess marketing initiatives, and measure return on marketing investments. Conduct market research to gain insights into industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes. Travel for business as requested.
Learning & Development: Commit to self‑development and ongoing professional learning. Provide technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoring to junior staff. Active participation in professional associations and committees to contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile.
Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering. Licensed as a professional engineer in Manitoba, or eligible to obtain license within six months. Minimum of 10–15 years of related professional experience.
Experience Demonstrated success in project management and business development. Experience leading teams of technical professionals on multidisciplinary projects. Comprehensive understanding of the electrical component of renewable energy‑related projects.
Extensive experience in medium and low voltage distribution, motor protection & control, emergency power generation, load calculations, lighting design, fire alarm systems, security systems, video surveillance, lightning protection, grounding & bonding, hazardous area classification, short‑circuit, coordination, and arc‑flash studies. Experience performing on‑site services for condition assessments, construction observation and inspection, equipment site acceptance testing, start‑up and commissioning, and training. Proficiency in providing technical leadership to a team of professionals.
