Electrical & Electronics Test Engineer

Position Test Engineer - Electrical & Electronic Products Location Loughborough, Leicestershire Employment Type Permanent, Full Time Position About the Role Our test engineers are at the forefront of operations at our testing laboratories and take on a key role in certifying the safety of products for global consumers, ensuring they remain fit for purpose and conform to stringent industry standards. Daily Activities A typical day involves creating test set‑ups and test rigs to simulate normal use and conditions of products.

Accuracy matters, so initial calibration checks are performed on testing equipment before undertaking measurements and recording results in accordance with ISO standards. Test Engineers interpret and navigate standards to lead them to perform tests, obtain results, generate data, and provide verdicts on specific clauses. Outside of testing work, you will support the team in scoping out new efficiencies and generating ideas to support future CAPEX for new equipment and methods.

You will also contribute to a safe working environment by identifying areas of improvement and writing and reviewing risk assessments. Qualifications Previous background and education in Electrical & Electronic Engineering with a strong knowledge of electrical principles and measurements (electrical & distance). Experience with medical electrical equipment standards – IEC/EN 60601 – is a major asset.

Ability to use and interpret testing equipment, including load banks, multimeters, flash testers and earth bond testers. Strong project management skills to set up multiple test rigs and coordinate multiple projects concurrently across a variety of tests. Excellent technical data interpretation, reporting, and test report writing using MS Word & Excel.

Attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
