About the Opportunity

Were looking for an Electric Reliability Engineer to help strengthen the reliability and performance of electrical systems across a North American power generation portfolio. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, SCADA, Commercial Operations and IT/OT teams, youll provide electrical systems expertise while contributing to reliability compliance, maintenance and continuous improvement. Youll have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across the business and make a tangible impact on generating assets.

Your Responsibilities

  • Youll support protective relay maintenance, relay settings databases and engineering calculations.
  • Youll review protection and control studies, including relay settings, coordination and arc flash.
  • Youll facilitate NERC and regional reliability compliance activities and communicate with generating station teams.
  • Youll support electrical upgrades, retrofits, outage planning and maintenance best practices.
  • Youll review testing results, recommend corrective actions and contribute to troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Youll coordinate with external engineering firms and contractors on testing, performance validation and reliability projects.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience working in a power generation environment with a strong understanding of safety and reliability practices.
  • Post-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of electrical power systems and equipment, including wind, solar and thermal generation.
  • Knowledge of electrical standards and the ability to apply sound engineering judgement to projects.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Valid G class drivers licence and willingness to travel within Canada and internationally.
  • Collaborative, proactive and detail-oriented approach with strong written and verbal communication skills.
