We are currently recruiting for an experienced Section Engineer to join a leading engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of civil engineering and structural projects across the Central Belt of Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineering professional who is looking to play a key role in the successful delivery of complex infrastructure works while developing their career within a well-established and growing organisation. The Role As a Section Engineer, you will be responsible for managing engineering activities across designated sections of work, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with Site Agents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and site teams, you will provide technical support and leadership throughout the construction process. Key Responsibilities Managing and coordinating engineering activities for allocated sections of work. Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
Supervising site engineers and subcontractors on site. Reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and construction information. Producing and maintaining quality assurance documentation and site records.
Monitoring project progress and identifying solutions to maintain programme targets. Supporting the management of temporary works and associated approvals. Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
Assisting with planning, reporting, and commercial processes where required. Building strong working relationships with project stakeholders and delivery teams. Requirements Degree, HNC, or HND qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience in a Section Engineer or Senior Site Engineer position. Background delivering civil engineering, infrastructure, bridge, structural steel, rail, highways, or related construction projects. Strong technical knowledge of construction methodologies and engineering standards.
Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. CSCS Card essential.
SMSTS and Temporary Works experience would be advantageous. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between project locations. What's on Offer Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
