Business Line: Energy and Sustainable Cities Type of contract: Permanent contract Service Line: Environment and Energy Job Family: Technical Engineering Compensation: CAD 130,000 - CAD 170,000 - yearly Job Description The Due Diligence Execution Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of the Due Diligence and Investigations (DD&I) program for major urban transit infrastructure projects in Hamilton, ON, Canada. This position operates within a multidisciplinary project environment and is accountable for integrating environmental, geotechnical, utilities, and other investigation disciplines into a cohesive program that informs design, construction, and risk management. The role ensures that field investigations are executed efficiently, risks are identified and managed proactively, and outputs meet project, regulatory, and governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, integration, and execution of multidisciplinary DD&I programs, including coordination of environmental, geotechnical, and utility investigations. Oversee field program scheduling, logistics, and execution in collaboration with safety, procurement, permitting (PLAA), OR/third-party, and project controls teams. Monitor program performance, including progress, schedule, budget, and risk, ensuring alignment with project objectives and delivery timelines.
Lead identification of additional investigation requirements in collaboration with Design, Construction, and Environmental teams. Direct the development of scope, schedules, permitting strategies, and cost estimates for additional DD&I work for approval by project leadership (e.g., AMT/ALT). Provide governance reporting, risk assessments, and decision support to senior leadership, ensuring due diligence outcomes are clearly communicated and actionable.
Qualifications Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geoscience, or related discipline. Post-graduate degree in a relevant field is considered a strong asset. Professional designation (e.g., P.
Eng., P. Geo., PMP) is strongly preferred. Over 15 years of experience, including significant experience on major transportation or linear infrastructure projects (e.g., LRT, rail, transit corridors, highways).
Demonstrated experience with: Leading large-scale, multidisciplinary investigation programs Managing complex field operations in urban or constrained environments Integrating environmental, geotechnical, and utilities data into project delivery Budgeting, scheduling, and risk management for major projects Strong knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks, permitting processes, and governance requirements. Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with due diligence tools, databases and MS Office suite.
