Drone Engineer
Cloudtronics is looking for an experienced Drone Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The role involves designing, building, and testing drone systems.
Responsibilities
- Design drone airframes, components, and mounts in CAD
- Prototype and assemble drone parts and complete systems
- Integrate and test motors, ESCs, flight controllers, sensors, and power systems
- Configure, tune, and troubleshoot flight control software using ArduPilot and PX4
- Carry out bench and flight testing, analyse flight logs, and improve designs
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of production environment experience in the drone / UAV sector
- Hands-on experience designing and assembling drone parts
- CAD design skills (e.g. SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
- Working knowledge of ArduPilot and PX4
- Experience with electronics integration, wiring, and soldering
- Creative, out-of-the-box approach to problem solving
Desirable
- Valid drone pilot licence
- Familiarity with MAVLink, ROS, or companion computers such as Rpi, Nano.
Minimum Qualification
- Aerospace/Mechatronics engineering degree required
