Job Description
Broad Overview The Director, Training and Development is accountable for the implementation and active management of training strategies, comprehensive module development, and compliant processes & procedures to support the commercial business. This leader will be responsible for all training programs involving customer-facing roles within the Sales and Value & Access organizations, focused on improving business impact and results. Hybrid schedule: 3 days a week out of our Conshohocken, PA office or our Cambridge, MA office, with 2 remote working days.
Responsibilities Sets the strategic vision for training excellence aligned with SERB’s fast-paced growth trajectory and the multitude of life-savings assets in the current and future portfolio. Develops and maintains a highly relevant, goal-oriented strategic training plan aligned to the Company's mission and business plans. These plans should be measurable for effect and flexible to change with the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
Acts as the lead of the Training Department and manages direct reports. Responsible for Commercial training plan creation and execution for priority products in Rare Emergency Medicine, Rare Oncology including future launch product(s) (Bentracimab). Manages planning, preparation, creation, and facilitation for Sales Training Classes and Meetings - including Launch & National Sales Meetings, New Hire Training Classes, Advanced Trainings, POA’s and remote trainings.
Leverages field trainers to ensure training curriculum is being employed and executed as planned. Conducts an in‑depth situational analysis to understand gaps and unmet needs, leading to a discussion with business leaders and an agreement on imperatives that will drive the proper development of a “customer‑focused” training curriculum. Identifies desired performance improvements; assesses related issues such as the need to revise procedures or develop appropriate job aids; specifies knowledge and skills required to align with desired outcomes.
Serves as a reliable partner to commercial leaders, aligning to business needs. Acts as an identifier, establishing training as a positive developmental conduit for future roles in the organization. Serves as primary lead for the US Forum (National Sales Meeting).
A key driver of priority agenda items; works collaboratively with RSDs/NSDs to develop relevant content for breakout sessions; and serves as an on‑stage leader and personality to “MC” the meeting flow. Committed to the appropriate time in the field to observe and document effectiveness of training with KAMs and management. Administers, monitors, tracks, and measures all systems and processes related to Sales Training: Learning Management System reporting, dashboards, and analytics.
Establishes formal training and certification requirements for Sales Training. Adheres to adult learning principles and sound training design. Establishes processes that enable timely and actionable performance feedback for managers and trainees.
Consistently displays the unique ability to learn and master complex products and systems between Rare Emergency Medicine, Rare Oncology and MCM (Medical Countermeasures) businesses. Coordinates all materials, resources, and tools for sales training programs, presentations, or updates. Conducts ongoing analysis of potential learning gaps with field feedback forums and surveys.
Tracks and monitors agendas, attendance, and assists with meeting logistics. Qualifications Pharmaceutical industry experience mandatory.
Understands how to work in a hospital system; rare disease/illegal portfolios. Can manage budgets and is astute in delivering quality materials at reasonable costs. Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established timelines.
Leverages Adult Learning theory to enhance and execute programs. Excellent presentation and interpersonal communications. Must be able to understand and work within cross‑functional environments with multiple stakeholders and priorities.

Competitive 401(k), $1 for $1 up to 6% of pay. The safe harbour match is vested immediately. In addition, SERB also offers a discretionary match of up to 4% of pay which vests 20% a year for 5 years.
