Overview We are partnering with our Portland, OR area semiconductor manufacturing client to recruit a Director of Sales to join their team on a permanent, direct hire basis. This is a fully-onsite , strategic leadership role just outside of Portland, and requires subject matter-expertise in the semiconductor field, a history of doing business with the major players in this space, and a growth mindset. In this role, you will manage a team of salespeople who focus on strategic business development, relationship cultivation, and vertical growth.
Your role will be to define departmental KPIs, goals and budgets, and ensure sales staff are meeting and exceeding profitability targets. Maybe most importantly, this role is the seniormost relationship manager and client advocate within the organization, and you will be tasked with scaling the brand’s footprint within existing accounts and ensure high-level customer satisfaction. You will be an innovator and partner to senior leadership, providing insight into sales data, strategy, competitive landscape and market conditions that impact growth, and working closely with cross-functional teams to capitalize on opportunity.
To be a fit, you should bring 10+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry in sales, account management, business development or similar functions. You must bring a long track record of mentoring and leading sales teams, experience managing department P&L, and experience working closely with senior leadership. This is a mid-sized organization with a strong reputation in the industry!
This is not a cold calling environment, but rather a strategic sales and account management function. You will join a team with excellent tenure, industry expertise and a high-functioning sales staff already in place. Compensation for this role ranges based on relevant experience between $145,000 and $190,000 annually.
This is not a commissioned role but is bonus eligible based on individual and company performance, averaging 15-20%+ annually. This is a fully onsite role just south of Portland, and the team is open to candidates actively relocating to the area.
Responsibilities Manage a team of salespeople who focus on strategic business development, relationship cultivation, and vertical growth; Further define departmental KPIs, goals and budgets, and ensure sales staff are meeting and exceeding profitability targets Serve as the company’s seniormost relationship manager and client advocate, working with sales team members to scale the brand’s footprint within existing accounts, identify new areas of opportunity, and ensure customer satisfaction Partner closely with senior leadership, providing insight into sales data, strategy, competitive landscape and market conditions that impact growth Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure order management and logistics are aligned and exceeding client expectations Your experience should include 10+ years of senior-level sales, account management and business development leadership experience working in the Semiconductor industry or for manufacturers in the space Deep understanding of and experience working with industry leaders in the semiconductor industry, with experience understanding contracting, necessary regulations Experience managing teams of 5+ direct reports in sales or similar, nurturing relational, strategic sales processes and owning department budget and P&L Strong level of complex, technical knowledge in this space, with the ability to educate clients, stakeholders, sales teams and other parties on product application, best practices and value proposition Bachelor’s degree with MBA or other advanced degree, preferred Experience partnering closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to ensure client satisfaction, streamlined order processes and logistics, and overall company positioning strategy This is a fully onsite role just outside of Portland, OR and will require up to 20% travel in the US and abroad.
