Role Description
The Director of Sales is a full-time, on-site role based in Newport, responsible for leading and executing the hotel’s sales strategy to drive revenue growth and market share. This role oversees sales, sets performance goals, and ensures effective sales operations across key segments such as corporate, group, and leisure business. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with clients and partners, identifying new business opportunities, and conducting regular sales calls, site visits, and presentations.
The Director of Sales collaborates with operations and revenue management to create and implement sales plans, forecasts, and promotional initiatives, while monitoring performance against targets. The role also involves coaching and mentoring team members, ensuring high standards of customer service, and representing Aimbridge’s brand and values in the local market.
Qualifications
- Strong Sales and Business Development skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience in Sales Operations, including forecasting, reporting, and pipeline management.
- Proven Customer Service abilities, with a focus on building long‑term client relationships and delivering high‑quality experiences.
- Demonstrated Team Management capabilities, including leading, coaching, and developing sales professionals.
- Previous experience in hospitality or related industries is highly beneficial.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work on‑site in Newport and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
