Job Description

Role Description

As MCP moves into a new and exciting phase of our mission, we are introducing our first education technology products to the market, and building the core go-to-market capabilities necessary to make them a success. Central to that effort is the hiring of a Director of Product Marketing to stand up the function at MCP. This senior individual contributor will pioneer what product marketing means for MCP, owning product messaging and positioning, product go-to-market, sales enablement and readiness, and our evidence and impact engine.

The position will report to the Chief Marketing Officer.

MCP operates with the same lean, outcomes-focused approach as a fast-moving startup. MCP Marketing is similarly a focused team, meaning you must have a startup mindset to succeed here. We’re creative problem solvers, both specialists and generalists who chip in wherever help is needed to get the job done, and hands on owners of our work.

We are leveraging AI to fuel our productivity and scale, so competency in AI tools like Claude and a deep, self-guided curiosity for AI’s potential in marketing is essential.

We are an entirely remote team that operates largely on US Eastern time zone hours. Expect 10%-25% travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities - What you'll do:

  • Product Messaging & Positioning: Own the product messaging framework for our product and service lines, including new solutions currently in development.
  • Product Go-to-Market: Own the product launch / GTM motion and execution for upcoming service and technology solutions that are currently in development.
  • Sales Enablement & Readiness: Partner with our Product, Innovation, RevOps and colleagues in Marketing to develop and execute a sustainable sales enablement strategy.
  • Evidence & Impact Engine: Build and lead the engine to ensure a continuous flow of evidence is delivered to our partner teams and marketing channels.
  • Build the MCP Product Marketing Capability: Define what product marketing is at MCP and how it collaborates with other teams across the organization.

Qualifications

  • An experienced product marketer with practical knowledge of the essential tools of the function.
  • Deep understanding of the K-12 market, including knowledge of instructional strategies and competency/mastery-based learning.
  • A builder at heart who is excited about creating process, templates, and strategies from scratch.
  • Both a true strategist and a hands-on marketer, comfortable with high-level messaging strategy and building sales collateral.
  • Genuine curiosity for the role AI can play in helping a marketing team scale.
  • A bonus - familiarity with specific tools and platforms, especially Salesforce, Asana, Google Workspace, Claude.

Benefits

  • Salaried position: $113,000 - $135,000 gross salary per year.
  • Employer-sponsored health insurance through CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield.
  • Employer-sponsored dental and vision insurance and ancillary benefits through MetLife.
  • Participation in Vanguard 403(b) deferred-compensation plan with 3% employer match.
  • Paid Time Off, inclusive of: vacation/PTO (20 days), paid holidays, paid parental leave, sick and safe paid time off, "Me Days", and the ability to earn paid Comp time off.
  • Annual budget for MCP-funded Continuous Learning for the program(s) you request (available after 6 months of continuous full-time employment).
  • FSA and Dependent Care FSA access.
  • 1x Salary Life Insurance company-paid coverage.
  • Access to Wishbone Pet Insurance Benefit.
  • Ability to work remotely and to set your own hours (within reason).
