Director of Planning and Economic Development The Town of Wrentham is seeking a collaborative and experienced professional to serve as Director of Planning and Economic Development. This leadership role oversees a highly skilled, detail-oriented department while also ensuring effective day-to-day administrative operations. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and diplomatic, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively with boards and committees, appointed and elected officials, staff, and the public, while consistently upholding high standards of confidentiality, accuracy, and efficiency.

Responsibilities Provide high‑level technical support to the Economic Development Commission, Conservation Commission, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and other Town Boards or Committees, including information provision and presentations to supervisors, civic groups, businesses, or individuals. Serve as liaison to businesses and the development community and various local, state, and federal agencies. Make recommendations regarding master plan development, amendments to Zoning Bylaws, and other local by‑laws and regulations.

Assist and advise Town Officials with the development of town properties. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field required; Master’s degree and AICP certification preferred. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in land use planning or economic development; municipal planning experience preferred.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience considered. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organizational and time‑management skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions. Salary Full‑time, 35 hours/4 days per week position.

Anticipated hiring range is $95,000–$110,000 with excellent benefits.
