Director of Nursing

Director of Nursing (DON) – Senior Living / Skilled Nursing Location: Fort Myers, Florida, United States Salary: $90,000 – $120,000+ (dependent on experience, location & facility size) Type: Full-Time We’re currently working with several senior living and skilled nursing operators who are looking to appoint experienced Directors of Nursing (DON) to lead their clinical teams. These are key leadership roles responsible for overseeing nursing operations, ensuring high standards of care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and building strong, stable clinical teams. Provide overall leadership and direction for the nursing department Ensure delivery of high-quality resident care in line with federal, state, and local regulations Oversee staffing, scheduling, recruitment, and retention of nursing staff Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and best practices Lead survey readiness and ensure compliance with CMS and state regulations Collaborate with Executive Director and interdisciplinary teams Manage departmental budgets and control staffing costs Support and mentor Nurse Managers, ADONs, and clinical teams Act as a liaison between residents, families, physicians, and staff Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required) Proven experience in a leadership role within senior living or skilled nursing Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance (CMS, Medicare/Medicaid) Experience managing teams, budgets, and clinical operations Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment Previous experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant DON Multi-site or turnaround experience Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher Experience improving survey outcomes and quality metrics Opportunity to lead and shape clinical operations Supportive leadership environment Competitive salary and benefits package Career progression within a growing organization #J-18808-Ljbffr
