Job Description

Director of Nursing Opportunity Oak Plains Academy is a comprehensive and highly structured residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents ages 7-17, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for organizing and administering the facility's nursing services, establishing goals, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring adequate numbers and qualifications of staff are available to perform nursing services. The DON is also responsible for the Infection Control (IC) program, including developing policies, establishing types of surveillance and criteria, collecting data, and implementing educational and/or corrective measures as needed. The position is eligible for an annual bonus based on department and facility performance. Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Tennessee. Minimum Associate of Science in Nursing; Master of Science in Nursing preferred. Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management. Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
