Job Description
Oak Plains Academy is a comprehensive residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents ages 7–17, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, the campus features a full-size gymnasium, dining hall, separate academic building, and four dormitories. Director of Nursing (DON) The Director of Nursing is responsible for organizing and administering the facility’s nursing services, including establishing goals, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring adequate numbers and qualifications of staff are available to perform nursing services. The Director of Nursing is also responsible for the Infection Control program, including developing policies, establishing surveillance and criteria, collecting data, and implementing educational and corrective measures as needed. The Director must be familiar with legal and ethical aspects of health care services, direct and instruct employees in duties, techniques, and principles, and maintain a good working relationship with other departments. This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on department and facility performance.
