Location: work is anticipated on‑site at our Las Vegas, NV location; location may change based on business needs. Job Description The Director of Nursing coordinates and oversees home health services to maintain compliance with professional practices, company policies, standards of practice, and local, state, federal rules and URAC/ACHC standards. The DON organizes, plans, implements, evaluates agency services, programs, and activities, overseeing subcontracted services, and ensures efficient, appropriate delivery of services for quality care.
The role plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with federal, state, local standards and guidelines. The Director of Nursing Services is an RN, licensed in the State(s), supervising home‑bound patients in their residence per physician orders and plans of care, striving to deliver highest quality care. Qualification Requirements Bachelor of Science in Nursing required Minimum of five (5) years in home care nursing or hospital nursing experience Minimum three (3) years of clinical leadership experience Active, valid Registered Nursing license in Nevada in good standing Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating customer satisfaction Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Willing to travel up to 50% of time for business purposes (meetings, conferences, seminars) Qualifications Preferred Master’s degree preferred Specialty certification preferred Nurse License Compact preferred, in applicable states Basic knowledge of home health regulations preferred Essential Functions and Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and update written policies and procedures governing day‑to‑day nursing service functions Recruit, retain, and train nurses Manage nursing department expenses and budget Maintain knowledge of nursing products and services Maintain a reference library of nursing materials (e.g., PDRs, state regulations) to support patient needs Develop and maintain a quality assurance program for the nursing service department Assist VP Operations in developing and updating procedures for new patient admissions and ongoing management Conduct continuous training for licensure Understand agency policies and procedures Develop standards ensuring safe, therapeutic services to patients and families Attend continuing education programs and share information with staff Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct Nursing Services Department programs and activities Maintain Nursing Service Procedures Manual and objectives Assist Performance Improvement Committee in developing action plans for deficiencies Create coordination methods for nursing services with other patient services Develop nursing service organization structure Implement education programs for staff progression from novice to expert Non-essential Functions and Responsibilities Develop and implement recruitment and retention programs for staff Monitor regulatory agency standards and customer service expectations Demonstrate leadership, interpersonal skills, and sound administrative principles Conduct evaluations for per diem staff and coordinators Apply nursing process to assess, plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate patient care Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to staff Coordinate training and skill maintenance for staffImplement corrective actions and performance evaluations Address personnel issues to promote healthy work environment Ensure staff licensure, education, and experience appropriate Stay updated on nursing trends through workshops, journals, seminars Manage Performance Improvement activities: meetings, audits, compliance Maintain employee health files per regulations and accreditation standards Oversee nursing contracts, agreements, business negotiations, signing final contracts Develop cooperative relationships and communicate professionally with physicians Investigate and report patient care issues that may harm patient or employee Work with Administrator on budget requirements and allocation use Monitor equipment usage and mitigate misuse Oversee agency Performance Improvement Plan Develop clinical indicators and reporting per PI plan Provide 24/7 on‑call coverage Plan and supervise home care program Ensure patient care plans are developed, implemented, evaluated Review patient records for compliance with regulations Immediately report accidents, incidents, missing items, or unusual events to Administrator Participate in professional societies and organizations Prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently Have scheduling flexibility and ability for overtime, on‑call Occasional overnight travel by car or airplane Maintain attention to detail Perform related duties as requested Participate in quality assurance activities and audits as directed Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements Knowledgeable of standards of care (ACHC, INS, CHAP, OSHA) requirements Proficiency in nursing principles, procedures and best practices Ability to communicate, inspire and motivate staff at all levels Strategic and proactive thinking Maintain accurate records and prepare reports and correspondence Maintain favorable public relations Organize and coordinate work of others Set priorities and delegate work Excellent verbal, written and communication skills Excellent edits for spelling and grammar, adapts style, presents data effectively, reads and interprets written information Computer Skills Proficiency in necessary programs for job execution Pay Range $125,000 – $140,000 per year USD (BioMatrix Pay Range/Rate) Physical Demands Employee may occasionally stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate objects, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and may lift up to 25 pounds.
