Job Description

The Director of Development secures philanthropic support from new and existing donors; serves as a faculty liaison to assigned fundraising priority areas; and plays a key role in sustaining and expanding a robust major and planned gifts program. Responsible for maximizing major gift revenue to Children's by executing a major gift fundraising strategy that supports both current-use and endowment fundraising objectives, while integrating planned giving and annual support strategies as required. Continually broadens the base of major and legacy gift support by identifying potential new donors and adding them to the prospect pool.

Works closely with Seattle Children's Foundation leadership, board trustees, volunteer leadership and major gift prospects to build on the institution's historic success to achieve our philanthropic vision and mission. As a key individual contributor to Seattle Children's Development Team, fosters a comprehensive and fully integrated approach that seeks to optimize a shared purpose and outcomes. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years of major gifts/fundraising experience in non‑profit and/or higher education environment required, including donor solicitation and management. Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, and donor databases. Preferred Knowledge of the Greater Seattle Area and WAMI philanthropic community is an asset.

Experience closing and/or working with six and seven figure gifts and/or grants. Previous major gift fundraising experience in a healthcare or research focused organization. Experience partnering with clinical and research faculty, co‑developing fundraising priorities.

Previous experience working with trustees and other community volunteers. Prior experience with Raisers Edge donor database systems. Compensation Range $118,174.00 - $177,262.00 per year Salary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full‑time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year).
