Director of Admissions/Sales
Dark Horse Institute
Job Description
$50,000-$60,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonuses
Target Total Compensation: $70,000-$85,000
Dark Horse Institute is looking for an experienced Admissions Sales Director to lead our small admissions team while personally recruiting and enrolling students.
This is a hands-on admissions leadership role - not a traditional administrative position. You will personally work with prospective students by phone and in person, manage your own pipeline, conduct admissions interviews and campus tours, guide students through the decision-making process, and enroll qualified students.
We're looking for someone who understands that successful admissions is about both relationships and results - someone who can connect with prospective students, understand their goals, communicate the value of Dark Horse, guide them through concerns and questions, and confidently help qualified students take the next step.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop the admissions team.
- Personally recruit and enroll prospective students.
- Manage your own pipeline from initial inquiry through enrollment and start.
- Conduct phone and in-person admissions conversations, interviews, and campus tours.
- Build relationships with prospective students and families and determine whether Dark Horse is the right fit.
- Coach team members through call observation, role-play, pipeline review, and hands-on training.
- Monitor HubSpot, follow-up activity, and pipeline performance.
- Use conversion data to identify opportunities and improve enrollment.
- Partner with Marketing to improve lead quality and enrollment results.
- Participate in Open Houses, community outreach, and recruiting events.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of proven phone-based sales, admissions, enrollment, or consultative sales experience.
- A demonstrated record of personally managing a pipeline and closing business or enrollments.
- Experience leading, coaching, or managing a sales or admissions team.
- Strong consultative communication, discovery, follow-up, and enrollment skills.
- Ability to address concerns, communicate value, and confidently guide prospective students toward a decision.
- Comfortable using a CRM and working with performance data.
- Highly organized, accountable, and results driven.
- Able to work full-time on-site in Franklin, TN.
- Admissions, higher education, career education, or music industry experience is a plus.
Why Dark Horse?
Dark Horse Institute is a small, hands-on music school in Franklin, Tennessee. You'll work directly with leadership and have a visible impact on our students and the growth of the school.
Our students are passionate about music and are pursuing careers in the music industry. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people make important decisions about their future while also leading, coaching, and being accountable for results.
Some evenings and Saturdays are required for Open Houses and special events.
